Episode 8 – A New Battle! The Mysterious Beauty from Nowhere

Hey! This is episode 8 of Kenshin…Enjoy!

When Sano was gambling with the help of a reluctant Kenshin, they were suddenly interrupted by the appearance of a beautiful woman, Megumi Takani.

Apparently she was being chased by a bunch of guys sent by a rich entrepreneur, Kranyu Takeda. Sano and Kenshin easily got rid of those men and brought Megumi back to the dojo.

Kaoru, jealous, began hitting Kenshin and getting worried for no reason. Megumi then told Kenshin about her situation but completely leaving out why she was being chased.

It was only known that Megumi was precious to Kranyu and he sent not only his guards but the Oniwaban, led by Aoshi Shinomori, too.

Just then, one of the members of the Oniwaban, Hyottoko, barged into the dojo, demanding Megumi.

Seeing that they could not defeat the Oniwaban, Megumi decided to escape. Kaoru then spoke out that they were trying to help Megumi so she should be more grateful. Then,Sano, with some help from Kenshin, defeated the fire-breathing man.

Just when everything was about to be over, Beshimi shot a poison dart to Megumi, which was blocked by Yahiko. Thus, Yahiko got poisoned instead. Kenshin, enraged, was about to get rid of Beshimi, but he was saved by a masked guy, which Kenshin claimed good.

Seeing that the situation was grave, Megumi started barking orders for them to start to help Yahiko. But as she was doing so, Sano noticed she dropped some strange objects that was opium.
It looks like that Megumi was not as innocent as she seems.

Episode 7 - Deathmatch Under the Moon: Protect the One You Love

Here’s episode 7 of Rurouni Kenshin titled Deathmatch Under the Moon: Protect the One You Love.

We continue the fight between Kenshin and Jinei. But this time, Kaoru’s life is at stake. As Kenshin fight with Jinei, Kaoru is suffocating. The only way to save Kaoru is to kill Jinei.

Kenshin is very angry at Jinei, even his speech and actions change drastically. (where is that lovable Kenshin!!!???) Just as Kenshin is about to end Jinei’s life, Kaoru broke the spell and stopped him. However, out of her desperation to break the spell, she used up all her energy and fainted.

To add a twist in the story, Jinei killed himself. (when I saw this…I was thinking…why don’t he just do that in the first place without dragging others down…)

So Kenshin returned back home with Kaoru, Sanosuke and Yahiko. (ooo…what a happy ending…but the story isn’t over yet.. )

Episode 6 - The Appearance of Kurogasa: Visitor from the Shadows

Here’s another episode of Rurouni Kenshin titled, The Appearance of Kurogasa: Visitor from the Shadows.

This episode features the starting of a fight between Kenshin and Jinei Udoh. Jinei, just like Kenshin, was a famous manslayer in the revolution. But now Jinei does killing for fun.

Therefore, Kenshin is personally requested by the police chief to help protect this filthy rich man who is Jinei’s next target. That night, lots of fighters are present, along with Kenshin and Sanosuke. The rich man has put up a large reward for those who can kill Jinei. However, they did not even last a second. Even Sanosuke is not match for Jinei, the only one left is Kenshin.

Kenshin, enraged by the sight of Sanosuke getting hurt, rushes at Jinei. However, he is no match for Jinei now, as he does not have the motive to kill again. Jinei decided to escape for now and told Kenshin to return back as battousai again as he wanted to kill that ruthless manslayer from the revolution.

Therefore, Kenshin decided not to return home and instead try to find his former self. Kaoru, afraid that Kenshin will never return, run off to find him. She then makes Kenshin promise to return. Unfortunately, Jinei kidnapped her, forcing Kenshin to be very angry.

Episode 5 - The Reverse-blade Sword vs. the Zanbatou: Beyond the Battle

Today’s episode 5 of Rurouni Kenshin titled, The Reverse-blade Sword vs. the Zanbatou: Beyond the Battle.

Finally, Sanosuke can fight with Kenshin without holding back. Although Kenshin has a better sword skill, he has a hard time defeating Sanosuke’s endurance. Kenshin then dealt a huge blow called Hiten Mitsurugi Style: Ryu-tsui-sen to Sanosuke, causing him to barely be able to stand. (I wonder why they have to say their sword move out loud…and it is like so long…^^)

The mystery behind Sanosuke’s hatred for the Imperialists is revealed in this episode. Seems like the Imperialists, after using Sekihoutai, (Sanosuke belongs to this group) decided to get rid of it. Meaning that the Imperialists betrayed Sekihoutai.

However, Kenshin cleared the misunderstanding to Sanosuke that not all Imperialists are like that. (yup…Kenshin is one of them…) Thus, Sanosuke admitted defeat to him. At the end, Sanosuke also became one of the freeloaders in Kaoru’s dojo and a comrade of theirs too.

Episode 4 - Bad! Introducing Sanosuke, Fighter-for-hire

Here’s episode 4 of Rurouni Kenshin. It starts off with Kaoru playing a game involving juggling bean bags while singing a song (I forgot the game’s name..=.=..). Once again, Yahiko insulted her and was chased around the house. Eventually they stopped and asked Kenshin the menu for today. After they complained of not having good food to eat, Kaoru went into berserk mode and ransacked her whole storeroom for a piece of valuable painting by her grandfather in order to sell it for money to eat beef-hot-pot.

When they were eating, they overheard three desperadoes of democracy arguing. They managed to throw a bowl at Kenshin who did not block to protect Kaoru. (hinted by Sanosuke in the middle of the ep) Yahiko ended up fighting with them and when Tae-san (the waitress..i think) tried to stop them, she gt pushed back by one of the desperadoes. Luckily, Sanosuke caught her. Together, Kenshin and Sanosuke easily drive the three desperadoes away. When Sanosuke invited Kenshin for a battle, Kenshin politely refused. (how typical of Kenshin^^)

Late in the night, one of the sore losers beaten by Kenshin in the earlier episodes hired Sanosuke to fight will Kenshin. It was revealed that Sanosuke was known as Zanza, the fighter-for-hire, in the underworld. It seems that almost everyone feared Sanosuke in the underworld (that proved how strong he is…and handsome too…!!!). When Sanosuke heard that his opponent was Battousai or known as Kenshin, he eagerly agreed.

Kenshin noticed Sanosuke once he stepped through the gate (nice sense Kenshin!!) , and welcomed him. They sort of had a reasoning talk before fighting each other. In the end, their fight was stopped as there were children around. Unfortunately to the sore loser, that was defeated by Kenshin during the last few episodes, he was crushed under a tree branch cut by Kenshin. (who told you to peek..lolz..serve you right!!) The episode ends with Kenshin asking Sanosuke why does he hate Imperialists so much…ooo..it seems that Sanosuke’s past is linked to the imperialists. I’m so gonna find out during the next episode …

Episode 3 - Swordsman of Sorrow

Heres Episode 3 of Rurouni Kenshin...
Well.. This episode mainly tells us why Kenshin left and became a wanderer through the story told by the leader of the army (I think that what his job is..i didn’t really pay attention…). Shockingly, when Kenshin was given a high position in the army, due to him playing a important role during the revolution, he rejected the offer. Seems that part of the reason for rejecting is his guilt of killing so many in the past. However, I think there is a deeper reason why he chose not to kill again. Why? We have to watch on to find out..So that is one more piece of mystery cleared about Kenshin’s past. I’m so looking forward to the next episode!!!

Synopsis

Another one of my favourite old anime...lolz. This anime basically revolves the story of Himura Kenshin or previously known as Battousai as he was a well-known and undefeated killer during the revolution. From what i have watched so far, it shows Kenshin's reactions to those around him. Basically, he is kind, caring, strong, powerful....(this list can go on and on if i wan to) The anime also unravels the mystery of his past slowly, revealing bits and pieces of information of events leading him to quit being a killer. To tell the truth, I have not listen to the opening and ending song even once..since I can't find one with it!!!! therefore, once i found the information, i will include it here. (eventually...)
